Meet the Hans Fahden Winemaker, David Sundberg

David joined us in 2015 and has been making wine since the late 90's. His winemaking style, like ours, strives for balance and reflects the character of their respective variety. Passionate about all things culinary, David first studied to become a chef before finding his way to winemaking.

After receiving a Winemaking degree from California State University Fresno, he honed his winemaking skills at Ste. Michelle Estates, Elara, Conn Creek, and Villa Mt. Eden in Mendocino and Napa. David gained diverse international perspective when he moved to Chile and became the Winemaker at a small family-owned winery in the Maipo Valley. Upon returning to California, he began consulting and making wines with William Knuttel, including Ottimino and William Knuttel Wines. David continues to perfect his craft with us at Hans Fahden, and at several other small wineries.
